Opening Week at Bows X Arrows Coffee

Bows & Arrows Coffee Roasters has been roasting coffee from their home base in Victoria since 2012 but decided to make the big decision to open their first cafe here in Vancouver.

On the corner of Fraser and East 26th Avenue the windows lines the walls drenching the south west facing space with light throughout the day. The space is anchored by the red brick faced counter topped with corian and a massive fir communal table that seats twenty.

Working with Toronto's MSDS Studio on the design of the cafe including their original vision of the long communal table and was fabricated by Space Lab in Chinatown and also features a combination planter/light that sits above the length of the table. You can also find pleated terracotta earthenware and pendant lights in the space that were also designed by MSDS.

From the outside if you look closely the logo for Bows & Arrows has been updated with the arrows being replaced by a stylized 'X' working with Victoria's Aleya Samji of Talkie to refresh the branding. The branding and packaging for the chocolate bars sold at the cafe from Sirene Chocolate was also designed by Talkie.

There are two featured espressos and two filter coffees brewed daily with the La Marzocco Linea on bar along with batch brew on Fetco. Tea is sourced nearby from Cultivate Tea on Main Street. All the coffee and tea at the cafe gets served in beautiful ceramics from Amanda Marie Ceramics in Victoria along with some mugs and glass servers from Japan's KINTO.

Food and drinks are also well represented at the cafe with everything prepared in house starting starting with a unique selection of baked goods and breakfast in the morning into the evening with shared plates to pair with cocktails, beer and wine.
