33 Acres Brewing Co. in B&W

There are a few spaces in the city that would be interesting to imagine as a new cafe and the 33 Acres Brewing Co. tasting room was near the top of that list. So it was exciting to see them announce their expanded coffee program earlier this year featuring a new custom Slayer espresso machine.

Serving coffee in the morning also helped them to achieve their goal of opening their space to the community for a quick meeting or do some work when the room would otherwise sit empty.

Their espresso machine comes from Seattle with engineers that were previously designing machines for La Marzocco and Synesso before unveiling their dream machine in 2009 called the Slayer. While working on incorporating new technology into their machine, they also quickly made customization of the Slayer a hallmark with everything from custom paint and metal finishes being incorporated straight from the factory.

Coffee beans are from Portland's Heart Coffee Roasters with the Stereo Seasonal Blend for their espresso. The coffee also compliments their new weekday light breakfast menu featuring biscuits made in house and Nelson the Seagull toast with East Van Jam's Blueberry Bourbon jam (add ons include poached egg, honey ham, smoked cheddar, avocado and almond butter).
