Cold Coffee at Timbertrain Coffee Roasters

After spending almost six months experimenting with different brewing techniques, Timbertrain Coffee Roasters introduced two cold coffees to their menu: The Einstein and Rocky.

Their cold coffee gets served in a chilled pilsner glass using a nitro tap giving the coffee a creamy texture along with a layer of foam on top. Nitro tap cold brew coffee is gaining popularity in the United States including at Cuvée Coffee, Klatch Coffee, Stumptown Coffee Roasters and Verve Coffee Roasters all experimenting with the technique.

The beans for both drinks at Timbertrain are single-origin and roasted specifically for brewing their cold coffee. The Einstein uses beans from Ethiopia and is the more fruity of the pair with high acidity. While Rocky is the full-bodied offering with beans from Guatemala.
